Paper basket made from old magazine

To make this basket, you will need an old magazine with a glossy cover such as the one shown below.
Tear off the cover (front only). And plot out a cross shape structure made up of 5 squares as shown.

Cut out the cross shape.


Mark out verticle slits along each flap except the centre flap. Depending on the size of the cross, they can be in the spacing of 1cm between each slid. You will also need to keep 1-2 cm spacing on the top and bottom of each square box flap. Then cut each slit with a cutter or scissors.
Cut strips of papers from the inside pages of  the magazines which are softer than the cover. They should be about 1cm height. Attach one strip along the oppsite flap to form the basket handle. You can staple it.

Start weaving the remaining strips as shown below, until the entire basket is complete.
